The search took almost two years…
…the search for what, you might ask? Well for the last several years now I have been looking for the right doc to join me in growing the practice.
Being the picky guy I am :)..I had a lot of requirements, the person had to be technically competent (obviously), but also a good fit for the type of service oriented culture and practice I have tried to develop at Garden State Bariatrics & Wellness Center. I believe I found the right person in Basil Yurcisin, MD who will start with me tomorrow, August 2nd.
I guess since I have a "new" partner, I must be the "senior" partner (I feel too young to be the "senior" partner!! :)). Anyway, although Dr. Yurcisin is new to my practice, he is not new to bariatrics. He trained at one of the leading bariatric programs in the country, Duke University in North Carolina. As a result of training at such a cutting edge program he brings a wealth of new skills to the practice, the one I am most excited about is "Single Incision Surgery". What this means is that many (but not all) of the procedures we do can now be done thru a single incision.
Now I just want to repeat, not all of the procedures we do (and not all patients) are candidates for single incision surgery, but many are. If you would like to meet Dr. Yurcisin, and find at more about bariatric surgery and specifically Single Incision Surgery he will be hosting a Patient Information Seminar this Wednesday, August 4th.
The seminar will be held at 200 South Orange Ave (the Ambulatory Care Center, across from the Livingston Mall), Livingston, NJ starting at 6 PM. The seminar is free and open to anyone who is interested in finding out about bariatric surgery.
The Ocean County Support Group will be this Friday, August 6th, it starts at 7 PM and will be held at Community Medical Center in Toms River, Auditorium A. It is open to anyone and is free.
Our North Jersey support group will be next Wednesday,August 11 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.- We will hosting a cooking demonstration -Come watch Saint Barnabas Medical Center'sChef Extraordinaire Jesse Kraft work his magic. He will show us creativeways to get more protein into our meals.
The support group as always is at the Ambulatory Care Center, 200 South Orange Ave, Livingston, NJ (across from Livingston Mall)
"Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all"
Thanks for reading, and for trusting me (and now Dr. Yurcisin) with your healthcare.
