Holiday 2009

Greetings!

Brrrrr…It's cold outside! Hope everyone is staying warm….

I know It's been a few weeks since my last email, I hope everyone had a safe and healthy New Year! I was actually away for about 10 days in the middle of December, so that is why I am a little late with this email.

First off I wanted to thank everyone who came to the Holiday Party, it was another really wonderful event.  I think next year we may need a bigger place!  There were almost 400 of you there, any more and I think we would have been in trouble with the fire marshal!  Some of the highlights…

The first "Century Club" celebration (for those of you who don't know, the century club is for anyone who has lost 100 lbs or more).  If you are in the century club and we don't yet have your name please email Laurie at: laf@gsbwc.com and give us your pre op weight, and current weight.

Great pictures, they are not yet up on the website, but they will be soon, I promise.  If you want us to use your picture on the website you have to send us a picture from before the surgery and we can use the holiday party picture as the "after" picture.  We heard so many great success stories, give us a little blurb with your picture so we can showcase it on the website.

I have to confess I dropped the ball on two things…I didn't get a "group shot" on the dance floor like we did last year.  Also when I said "thanks for coming" at 9:20, everyone thought the night was over, even though we had the hall rented until 10 pm…I'll have to make it up to you next year!

Again, thanks for being there and sharing your families and loved ones with the me and the staff.  Events like the Holiday Party remind me of why I do this stuff.

Informational Seminar:

I will be having my first informational seminar of the new year on Wednesday January 6th, starting at 6 pm, however it will not be at my office.  Instead I will be holding this one at the Ambulatory Care Center (the same building we have our support group meetings in), 200 South Orange Ave., Livingston, NJ.

If you know someone who is interested in truly starting out the New Year (and new decade) with a fresh start this would be a great place to bring them.  Please call the office at 973-218-1990 to reserve a spot.

Support Groups:

The St. Barnabas Support Group will continue meeting on Wednesdays at the Ambulatory Care Center, 200 South Orange Ave, Livingston, NJ from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.

This year's first meeting will be January

The support group schedule can always be found on my website on the left side of the home page, just click on "support groups".  There is also information there about support groups in Monmouth and Ocean Counties

Yoga Class:

This months yoga class will be next Monday, January 11th at 7:30 pm at the Millburn office.  Please call the office to reserve your place.  For any of you who have never tried yoga this class is a great way to "dip your toe in the water".  Darcy, our instructor is getting rave reviews and has tailored the classes for bariatric patients

End Quote:

I thought I would start off with a nice sentiment for the first end quote of the new decade.

"Kindness is the golden chain by which society is held together"
Goethe

That's it for now folks, as always thanks for reading and trusting me with your healthcare.
